"Heroine" is a song by British pop act Shakespears Sister, which, at this time, was essentially former Bananarama singer Siobhan Fahey. Fahey wanted the song to be her debut single, but her label London Records was not convinced it was a strong enough single and instead opted for to issue it as a double A-side with "Break My Heart (You Really)". The song was however released as a standalone single in Canada and USA. None of the versions/formats that were released made any major chart impacts.

The video to accompany "Heroine" was directed by Sophie Muller,[1] and self-financed by Fahey herself. It featured Fahey running in a wedding dress through the streets of New York, and also shots holding her then-baby son, Sam. Since the band was still not officially a duo, Marcella Detroit does not appear in the video (though she provided backing vocals to the song).
